Relevance of PCNAK for the American Malayalee Youth

Year after year we gather together under the umbrella of PCNAK. It takes a lot planning, patience and hard work to put together a convention of this magnitude. I extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the organizers and volunteers.

Our focus should be our children and our youth. They are our future. We have a responsibility to instill our values and culture in them in a positive way. Our instructions should be Christ centered and based on Bible principals.

Salvation is simple but religious people make it hard with their rules and regulations.

We should not hound our children and youth with the DON’T’S but teach them to live a Godly life. We should not quarantine them from the society but enable them to be leaders and not followers. You don’t have to be religious fanatic to serve God. Serving God should be fun and not a burden. It is fun to wake up with God. You are not alone because he is always by your side. He is ready to teach you and guide you to make the right decisions in life.

Problems facing today’s youth must be addressed, solutions and coping mechanisms must be discussed. Teachers, professors and youth pastors should take an active role in discussing these problems. Questions should be encouraged and answers should be given. Our children have their own identity and they are not extensions of ourselves. We the parents have to be positive role models for our kids. We have to be Christ-like in our thoughts and actions.

PCNAK should focus in developing our children and our youth’s talents and leadership skills. We should put our personal agendas and selfish motives aside and surround our youth in God’s circle of love. God wants spiritual fruits not religious nuts.

God is not in the business of keeping people out of heaven. Heaven is not an exclusive club for Malayalee Pentecostals. God loves all of us including the ones that have done wrong. He wants to be our father when we are on this earth. And when our days on this Earth are over he wants to take us to a special place called Heaven.

I pray that PCNAK be a force who will drive our youth in God’s divine direction.
