Rev. Cherian was serving as the pastor of Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Richmond, Virginia. He was also a great leader and a famous writer. He has written and published 14 books in different Christian subjects. He is survived by wife Saramma Cherian; sons Sam and Benny. For further details about funeral service, please contact Bro. Background: In May 1949, he committed his life to Christ during a Sunday morning service in Kottayam, Kerala India.
In May 1950, he was baptized and received gift of Holy Spirit.
He has studied at Kumbanad Bible College in Kerala, India under the guidance of Late. Pastor K.E. Abraham, Pastor P.M. Philip, Pastor T.G. Oommen and other blessed leaders of the Indian Pentecostal Church.
Pastor Cherian Kothakery has excelled himself in various branches of Christian Literature. He has published a variety of Christian books, poems, novels, short stories, Biblical interpretations and biographies. He is continually writing in newspapers such as Malayalam Manorama, Malayalam Pathram, Kerala Express, Good News etc. in India and United States. He has served as a teacher of the Bible in Four Bible colleges in India. He has written numerous articles and 15 books such as "Velicham Kanda Bootham", "Abadhangal", "Opening the Book of Revelation" etc.
